Abseil - Collins Creek
Meet at Blackbutt lookout Border Ranges at 8:30am. A short walk to the top of the falls, 40m to a very small ledge (1 person only), there transfer to the main drop of 120m+. There is a large length of overhang, then a slope ending in a pool. The climb out is an ill-defined ramp which changes to a steady scramble to the top. Not very difficult. We congregate at the Blackbutt Lookout while volunteers pull the rope up. This is definitely the best "Bang for Bucks" in our area. Participants are strictly limited to 10 capable people. No rescue is possible from the group, so you need to be capable of self-rescue.
This event is open to members only.
Upon registration, it will be assumed you have read the Northern Rivers Bushwalkers Club Abseiling Essential Information Document and you bring in your pack a completed Medical Information slip.
