RIDE: Lennox Head to Evans Head 2-day Event

DAY 1 Wednesday: Lennox Head to Evans Head (58.5km 340m) departing at 7:30am riding via coastal path to Ballina, then Pimlico Rd, Wardell, Broadwater, then Broadwater to Evans Head Road. Coffee stop at Wardell at 36km (about 10:30am). Lunch at Evans Head (about 1:00pm, but it depends on the speed of the group).

DAY 2 Thursday: Evans Head to Lennox Head (67.4km 399m) departing at 7:30am from Illawong Hotel, Evans Head, riding via Woodburn (maybe coffee), Kilgin Rd to Broadwater, then back to Wardell for more coffee. After coffee, we come back over the bridge and follow River Drive to the ferry at South Ballina. The planned route is then to follow the cycleway on Angels Beach Drive then up over North Creek Road to Lennox Head. However, some may want to return via the coast path. Lunch at Lennox or when you get home.

The riding pace for touring is very relaxed and is much slower (on average) than many of the club rides that are day rides. The average speed on this fairly flat, relaxed ride is expected to be 15-17km/hr as we will also have panniers or gear to carry. We will stop regularly to regroup. So, if you are someone who likes to ride fast, or have an e-bike that allows you to ride fast, you may find this ride too slow for you. Please consider this before registering.

Wednesday afternoon activities in Evans Head include swimming (don't forget to pack your swimmers), walking on the beach or national park or just relaxing.
